Our amazing Manager Frankee and her team attended the peaceful protest in Birmingham to support our SEND schools.
Frankee said “this is something we as a team feel is extremely important to support for a better EHCP programme, due to massive delays our children are spending more and more time out of education and provisions are not being put in place to support our children in education, meaning they are unable to fulfil their full potential”
A national headteachers association survey shows that 97% of school leaders said that funding for send pupils was insufficient to be able to fully meet the children’s needs. Only 39% of teaching staff have received more than half a day of Autism training.
In 2022 – 4,800 appeals were lodged with SEND tribunal out of those appeals a success rate in favour of parents and carers was over 96% but the current waiting list for tribunal dates to appeal an EHCP are in excess of 10 months, also half of all EHCP’s issued last year were not issued within the 20-week legal time frame.
We are supporting the fight for a more robust speedier system for EHCP’s and more special school to help support our children’s needs.
