The inspector said - Children receive exceptional care from a dedicated workforce. Staff pride themselves on how well they know each child. A model of care based on playfulness and empathy builds the foundations of trusting attachments between children and adults. This has resulted in phenomenal stability for children. Staff have high aspirations for children. They support children to develop age appropriate life skills to prepare them for adulthood. The nature and extent of their learning disabilities are well understood by staff. This enables staff to set realistic but also challenging goals for each child. Managers know their strengths. A wealth of evidence is available to support sustained improvement for the children during this inspection period. This covers all areas of their development, including better healthcare, exceptional educational progress and more social opportunities than before. The manager has exceptional working processes alongside quality assurance mechanisms. The manager’s oversight of the home allows all information to remain up to date. If needed, the manager will chase local authorities for information. Equally, she will advocate for the children with external professionals to promote their needs and wishes. All this work enables the team of staff to have all they need to provide optimal care for the children and promote excellent outcomes. Staff feel supported by the management team. They receive regular, good-quality supervision and yearly appraisals. Staff are supported to develop in their roles through robust mentoring and bespoke training, which equips them with the skills they need to meet children’s individual needs.
